RESPITE CARE

Support for the Person. Relief for the Caregiver.

Families and caregivers need opportunities to rest, work, take care of other responsibilities, and recharge.

Respite Care provides temporary support for a person with an intellectual or developmental disability while giving their regular caregiver a break from caregiving responsibilities.

Respite can also give individuals opportunities to spend time with another trusted support professional, participate in activities, and maintain their regular routines.

  • Daily routines
  • Household responsibilities
  • Personal care
  • Safety
  • Community participation
  • Transportation
  • Decision-making
  • Building independent living skills

The goal is not simply to provide assistance. It is to support each person in having greater choice, independence, and control over everyday life.

SEMI-INDEPENDENT LIVING

Support Without Taking Away Independence

Some individuals can live independently without staff residing in the home but still benefit from regular or occasional assistance.

Semi-Independent Living Services can help individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities maintain their homes, strengthen independent living skills, manage everyday responsibilities, and remain connected to their communities.

Support is designed around what the person can do independently and where additional assistance would be beneficial.

NOT SURE WHICH SERVICE YOU NEED?

You Don't Have to Know Where to Start

Families often know what kind of help they need without knowing the official name of the service.

That's okay.

Tell us what is happening, what kind of support would be helpful, and whether you're already working with a case manager, support coordinator, insurance plan, or state program.

Our team can help determine whether one of Bloom Care Partners' services may be appropriate.

PAYING FOR SERVICES

Understanding Your Options

How services are funded depends on the individual, the service needed, eligibility requirements, program enrollment, and available benefits.

Bloom Care Partners works with individuals, families, case managers, support coordinators, managed care organizations, and other partners to determine the appropriate next steps.

Funding may vary based on the individual's circumstances and service authorization.
